HVAC Air Pressure Balancing service
The typical Air Pressure Balancing cost is between $499 and $599
Balancing air pressure is one of the most important (and most ignored) parts of HVAC work.
If ducts aren’t balanced, even a brand-new system will feel like a bad one: hot rooms, cold rooms, weak airflow, whistling vents, frozen coils, high electric bills. YOU MUST DO BALANCING ASAP
What “HVAC Air Pressure Balancing” Really Means
Your furnace/air handler blower is basically a fan trying to push and pull air at the same time:
It pushes air OUT through supply ducts → to rooms
It pulls air BACK through return ducts → to the unit
1) Supply Pressure (Positive Pressure)
- Air blowing out of vents into rooms.
- Too high → loud vents, whistling, doors slam shut, some rooms overheat.
2) Return Pressure (Negative Pressure)
Air being sucked back into return grilles.
Too high negative pressure is VERY common in American homes.
Symptoms:
- Bedrooms are hot in summer
- Cold in winter
- Doors hard to close
- Air coming from under doors
- Dusty house
- Whistling return grille
What Happens When System Is NOT Balanced
- HIGH ELECTRIC BILL
- SYSTEM OVERWORKING
- SOME ROOMS OVERT HEAT AND OVER COLD
- DAMAGE THE HVAC UNIT
Goal of Air Duct Balancing
- Every room receives the correct CFM (airflow) for its size
- while the system stays under proper static pressure (~0.5 in. w.c.).
- Safe HVAC unit
- Lower down Bill
